Three simple challenges.
There is a lot of debate now about the shape of the Earth after the resurgence of the Flat Earth movement. A common misconception is the need for very complex and expensive experiments to prove or disprove a particular shape of the Earth.
Let's present three very simple yet decisive experiments that can be performed by (almost) anyone.
No high-tech is needed. Just some very basic gear and very simple science.
Keep it simple.
Watch familiar constellations. Do they always look the same?
See for yourself if the visual size of the solar disk grows and shrinks.
Using a stick and a ruler you can perform a simple but clever experiment, designed around 240 BC.
There is also a fourth much more difficult challenge here. But you are advised to go through the three challenges above before taking the plunge into the fourth task.
